FENT PREVENT
Fentanyl Prevention Awareness & Education

Fent Prevent is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teens understand the dangers of hidden fentanyl through awareness, education and prevention.

Mission Statement

Fent Prevent’s mission is to educate and empower teens with accurate information about the dangers of fentanyl. Through awareness, education, and prevention programs with schools and community partnerships, we provide life-saving information and resources to prevent overdoses. More importantly, we promote informed decision-making, teen safety, and healthy drug-free lifestyles.

I started Fent Prevent because I lost my cousin, Eli Weinstock, to fentanyl. Eli didn’t know that the legal herbal supplement he took was laced with fentanyl. He didn’t think one choice could cost him his life, and neither did many teens. That’s the scary part. Today, fentanyl is showing up in pills and drugs that look normal or harmless. One pill. One hit. One decision. That’s all it can take. I created Fent Prevent to talk teen to teen honestly and without judgment about what’s really happening. This isn’t about fear or lectures. It’s about making sure people our age have the facts before it’s too late. If Fent Prevent helps even one person make a safer choice, then Eli’s story matters, and this work matters.

Founder's Note

My name is Levi Schaner, and Fent Prevent was born from loss and is driven by purpose. Fentanyl hides behind pills that look safe, moments that feel harmless and decisions that are made too quickly. One choice can end a life and change a family forever. I started Fent Prevent so teens hear the truth before it's too late. This work is about protecting lives, sharing real stories, and making sure no family has to experience a loss that could have been prevented.

Our Story

Fent Prevent was created from a deeply personal loss. I lost my cousin, Eli Weinstock, to an accidental fentanyl overdose. Eli was a sophomore in college with his whole life ahead of him. His death devastated our family.

Sharing Eli’s story is not just about grief it’s about awareness, education, and prevention.

As the founder of Fent Prevent, I am committed to helping teens understand the risks that are hidden behind what can seem like “just one pill,” “just one sip,” or “just one puff.” Losing Eli showed me at a young age how quickly an ordinary moment can turn into tragedy and change everything forever.
